An item reported that on 10 March 8 American bombers attacked Japanese shipping in Salamaua Harbor [Papua New Guinea] hitting 6 transports with as result 4 set on fire, 1 beached and one sinking. The same day Allied aircraft bombed a transport at the entrance of this harbour and the there located airdrome; the J.I.C.commented that those attacks were similar to the ones reported a day earlier in the press, Summary No. 91.
