The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1903-1904 reported that the British torpedo gunboat Karrakatta visited Surabaya, Dutch East Indies between 4-8 January 1904. The Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 8 January 1904 reported her arrival on the Monday coming from Australia, before describing her as a destroyer. The Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 8 January reported her departure from Surabaya on 8 January towards Singapore. Commanding officer was G.E. Corbett.

Part of the Sharpshooter-class torpedo gunboats, preceded by Grasshopper-class, succeeded by Alarm-class, laid down by Armstrong Whitworth, Elswck, Tyne and Wear, England with yard number 546 on 17 August 1888, launched on 27 August 1889, commissioned in February 1891, paid off in April 1904 and sold at Portsmouth, England in July 1905.
