Fate of several Allied warships after the battle of Java, Dutch East Indies still unknown according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 17 March 1942

An item reported that the statement added to the summary No. 95 dealing with the battle of Java, Dutch East Indies that all other Allied warships were safe was not correct. There were still units missing.

Note

1. The ABDA-squadron commanded by the Dutch rear admiral Karel Doorman was in fact destroyed.
