Germany still not captured Soviet Black Sea harbours according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 17 August 1942

An item reported that the German advance to capture the Soviet Black Sea harbours was slower than stated by the Germans. Lacking sufficient Soviet resistance it seemed that German forces reached the Klyetska-Kalach area of the Don loop.
