Bankson, contract signed on 3 June 1909, expiration of contract period on 3 August 1911 , lines faired on 14 October 1909, first hull material ordered on 29 June 1909, keel laid down on 22 December 1909, first frame erected on 10 January 1910, first large castings received on 22 April 1910, first large castings erected on 19 May 1910, first compartment tested on 15 April 1910, launched on 27 May 1911 and estimated degree of completion on 30 June 1911 92.4%.(1)

1. Part of E-class submarines, preceded by D-class, succeeded by F-class, launched as Skipjack, renamed E-1 on 17 November 1911, commissioned on 14 February 1912, classified as SS-24 on 17 July 1920, decommissioned on 20 October 1921 and sold to be broken up on 19 April 1922. Built by Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts, USA.
