Enemy submarines sinking bauxite loaded cargo ships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 6 March 1942

An item reported that since 20 February enemy submarines sunk three bauxite loaded cargo ships coming from the Guianas. (1) The J.I.C. commented that at that moment the Guianas delivered 40% of the bauxite needed or the aluminium-production in the USA.
