German light cruiser Leipzig visited the Dutch East Indies in 1914


The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1913-1914 reported that the German light cruiser Leipzig visited Ambon between 31 December 1913-5 January 1914, Koepang between 11-14 January 1914, Surabaya between 17-20 January 1914, Semarang between 29-30 January 1914 and Tandjong-Priok between 31 January-4 February 1914. (1)

Note

1. Laid down by AG Weser, Bremen, Germany in 1904, launched on 21 March 1905, commissioned on 20 April 1906 and sunk in the Battle of the Falkland Islands against the British Royal Navy on 8 December 1914. Part of Bremen-class light cruisers, preceded by Gazelle-class, succeeded by Königsberg-class.
