An item reported that not one but three ships of a convoy were torpedoed in the night of 16-17 August south of Guantanamo, Cuba (zie report No. 250). In the current month were 12 ships part of a convoy torpedoed in the Florida Straits-Caribbean area. Enemy submarines were still active in the area east- and southeastward of Trinidad.
