An item reported that the Dutch cruiser Zeven Provincien (1) was commissioned at Nieuwediep, Netherlands on 21 October. She was to relieve the Hr.Ms. Tromp (2) in the Dutch East Indies.

2. Coastal defence ship Marten Harpertszoon Tromp, laid down by Rijkswerf Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1903, launched on 15 June 1904, commissioned on 5 April 1906, decommissioned in 1927, stricken in 1932, sold and departed on 6 December 1933 to the scrapyard at Pernis, Netherlands.
