French whaler George arrived at Wellington, New Zealand according to the newspaper Wellington Independent dated 14 January 1846

An item reported the arrival on Monday of the French whaler George master Casper from the whaling grounds and Akaroa reporting that the whaling has been very unsuccessful on the north-west grounds and that a number of whalers intended to cruise off the south coast of New Zealand.
