Call sign JDFB. Built in September 1895 by Richardson, Duck&Co., Stockton-on-Tees, England in 1895 for account ofN.V., Stoomvaart Maatschappij Leonora, Rotterdam, Netherlands, renamed February 1914 Nichiro Maru, Japan-flagged and owned, homeport Dalian and in 1917 renamed Hosei Maru, in 1939 owner Shoyo Kisen K.K., Amagasaki, Japan. Final fate unknown. Gross tonnage 2,668-2,670 tons, under deck 2,441 tons, 1,693 tons net tonnage, deadweight 4,300 tons and as dimensions 315.0 x 43.0 x 21.1 x 20 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating steam propulsion, 1 screw, 246 nhp, coal bunker capacity 560 tons, range 5,400 nautical miles/9 knots and a cruising speed of 9 knots.
