Philippine cargo ship (ex-Kurland 1920-1931, Robert Dollar II 1921-1931, Chief Capilano 1931-1937) Don José 1937-1942 (Dosei Maru 1942-1945)

Call sign KZPF. Gross tonnage 10,893 tons, under deck 10,044 tons, net tonnage 6,791 tons, deadweight 14.450 tons and as dimensions 524 (between perpendiculars) 543.0 (over all) x 65.7 x 37.5 x 30 (loaded draught) feet. Oil fuelled reciprocating steam propulsion allowing with 2 screws a speed of 11 (cruising)-13 (maximum) knots. Built by Joh.C. Tecklenborg AG Schiffswerft und Maschinefabrik, Wesermunde, Germany in 1920 as Don Jose. As Kurland owned by the British Government, as Robert Dollar II by Dollar Steamship Lines, San Francisco, USA, as Chief Capilano by Canadian American Navigation Co. Ltd, as Don José by Madrigal Shipping Co., Manila, Philippines and in Japanese hands Dosei Maru and sunk by American aircraft carrier based planes 50 miles south of Hong Kong on 16 January 1945.
