US Navy added squadron of battleships to the British Grand Fleet during the First World War

An item reported that a US Navy squadron of 5 battleships was added to the British Grand Fleet participating in all operations carried out by the Grand Fleet. The squadron was involved in escort and convoy tasks and at least twice part of the battleline when an encounter with the enemy navy was a real possibility.
