An item reported that the Italian light cruiser Venezia which was the former Austro-Hungarian Saida (1) departed for Constantinople, Turkey flying the flag of rear admiral D. Galleani. Her armament consisted of the original 9-4.1” semi-automatic guns [9x1-10cm/3.9”in fact] to which an Italian 3” anti aircraft gun [1-7cm/2.8”]was added and the original torpedo tubes replaced by the common 18” Italian mode. The Venezia was the first light cruiser of the enemy to serve within the Italian Royal Navy. According to her commanding officer was she very lightly and cheaply built and not complying to the Italian standards. She had to be strenghtened in the wake of her armament.
