Japanese cargo ship Akibasan Maru 1924-1944

Call sign JYZA. Gross tonnage 4,07 tons, under deck 3,923 ton, net tonnage 2,865 ton, deadweight 6,497 tons and as dimensions 375.0 x 50.0 x 30.0 x 11.5 (light)-24.5 (loaded) feet. Speed 11 (normal cruising)-14 (maximum) knots. Horsepower 496 nhp pr 1,850bhp/95 rpm maximum speed. With 805 ton oil and 675 ton coal bunker capacity a range of 15,000 miles/11 knots. Laid down by Mitsubishi Bussan Kaisha Ltd. on 11 March 1924, launched on 18 September 1924, completed on 18 November 1924, requisitioned by the navy as a transport in July 1941, relased on 29 August but requisitioned for the second time on 13 November and registered as an auxiliary transport on 20 November, sunk in an Allied air attack on Kwajalein, Marshall Islands on 30 January 1944 and stricken from the navy list on 10 March 1944.
