Japanese cargo ship (ex-Kosai Maru 1898-1926, Bifuku Maru 1926-1938) Bihuku Maru 1938-1942

Launched by Lobnitz&Co. Ltd., Renfrew, Scotland on the West Yard with yard number 472 on 15 December 1898, completed in 1899, torpedoed and sunk by American submarine USS Narwal off the North East coast of Honshu on 8 August 1942. Gross tonnage 2,558 tons, under deck 2,446 tons, net tonnage 1,332 tons, deadweight 2,480 tons and as dimensions x 312.0 x 39.2 x 18.7 x 12 (light)-21 (loaded) feet. Speeed 11 (normal cruising)-14 (maximum) knots. Reciprocating propulsion 377 np, coal bunker capacity 435 tons and range 2,900 miles/11 knots.
