Colombian spiny lobster fishing mainly off The Pacific coastline according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated July 1968 No. 7

An item reported that just a little Colombian spiny lobster fishing was done on the Pacific Ocean coastline, most lobsters were caught off the Atlantic Ocean coast line especially in the Caobo de Vela area and som off Tumaco near the Ecuadoran border. Landings in1963, 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967 respectively 16, 17,19,21 and 22 tons. A great part of the frozen lobsters was exported respectively 10, 13, 14, 16 and 16 tons. Lobsters were canned in Columbia. The main exporting company was Mariscos del Caribe. Two other companies namely the German owned Langosta del Caribe and Guajira were to be active on short notice.
