British seaplane carrier HMS Ark Royal bound for Batumi according to the Weekly appreciation of matters of naval interest No.13 week ended 15 March 1919

An item reported that the British seaplane carrier HMS Ark Royal with on board 30 D.H. 9a aircraft departed on 12 March for Batoum [Batumi, Georgia].

1. Laid down by Blyth Shipbuilding Company, Blyth, Northumberlands on 7 November 1913, acquired still being in frames in May 1914, building continued as seaplane tender, launched on 5 September 1914, commissioned on 19 December 1914, renamed HMS Pegasus on 21 December 1934, sold on 18 October 1946 and became the Panama-flagged ss Anita owned by R.C. Ellerman and operated by Compania de Navigation Ellanita, rebuilding as a cargo ship started in October 1947, ceased in early 1948, seized for debts on 16 June 1949 and finally sold to be broken up in October 1950.
