Japanese cargo ship (ex-Amur Maru 1919-1935) Mansei Maru 1934-1942

Built by Osaka Iron Works Ltd., Osaka, Japan in April 1919 and foundered in a storm in the Formosa Strait on 5 December 1942. Call sign JARD. Gross tonnage 7,770 tons, under deck 7,329 tons, net tonnage 4,828, deadweight 12,136 tons and as dimensions 425.0 x 56.2 x 40.5 x 9.2 (light)-31.2 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 2 screws, 655 nhp, coal bunker capacity 2,867 tons, range 15,000 nautical miles/9.5 knots and speed 9.5 (normal cruising)-11 (maximum) knots.
