Japanese passenger ship (ex-Bangala 1902-1924) Taizan Maru 1924-1942

Launched by A.&J. Inglis, Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 272 for the British India Steam Navigation Company on 4 September 1902, completed on 28 November 1902, troop transport in 1914 and sunk in a collision in the Yellow Sea on 14 June 1944. Call sign JYWA. Gross tonnage 3,930 tons, under deck 3,141 tons, net tonnage 2,379 tons, deadweight 3,200 tons and as dimensions 373.0 x 45.2 x 26.5 x 25 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, one screw. 899 nhp and speed 14 (normal cruising)-16 (maximum) knots.
