Proposal voor een frigate by the British firm Vickers dated around 1964

Vickers made the proposal as a possibility for a replacement of the British Type 41 or Leopard-class anti aircraft frigates built between 1953-1960. The final design dated from December 1947 with as main tasks escorting convoys and amphibious groups and as light destroyers. There were 8 units planned, 5 for the Royal Navy of which was cancelled and 3 for the Indian Navy. The British frigates were broken up in the 1970s except for the HMS Lynx and Jaguar sold to Bangladesh, both decommissioned in 2013. Displacement 2,337 (standard)-2,560 (full load) and as dimensions 100 (over all) x 12 x 4.9 metres or 340 x 40 x 16 feet.
