Japanese cargo-passenger ship (ex-Katsuura Maru 1916-1938) Katuura Maru 1938-1945

Sunk on 2 February 1945 on the position 25.37 north and 119.47 east. Call sign JOSB. Built by Mitsubishi Dockyard&Engineering Works, Kobe, Japan in July 1916. Gross tonnage 1,725 tons, under deck 1,278 tons, net tonnage 1,023 tons, deadweight 2,650 tons and as dimensions 250.0 x 37.7 x 20.5 x 6.6 (light)-18.6 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, 138 nhp, coal bunker capacity 228 tons, range 3,500 miles/9 knots and speed 9 (normal cruising)-10.5 (maximum) knots.
