Japanese tanker (ex-Manju Maru 1921-1938) Manzyu Maru 1938-1945

Call sign JBNA. Gross tonnage 6,515 tons, under deck 5,691 tons, net tonnage 3,848 tons and as dimensions 420 x 54.0 x 32.9 x 9 (light)-26.6 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 57 rpm/10 knots, oil bunker capacity 1,250 tons, range 10,000 nautical miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-12 (maximum) knots. Oil carrying capacity 71,400 barrels (42 gallons). Laid down by Kobe Steel Works Harima Dockyard on 20 December 1920, launched on 23 July 1921, completed on 2 September 1921, requisitioned by the navy on 8 August 1941, registered as an auxiliary oil supplier on 1 December 1941, damaged by the American submarine USS Queenfish (SS-393) on 8 January 1945, next day run aground and 20 January demolished in an American air attack.
