Dutch Greenland commandeur Pieter Pietersz returned home according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 30 August 1701

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 29 August reported the arrival on the Maas river, Netherlands of the Dutch Greenland commandeur Pieter Pietersz 12 whales. He stated that he left the ice with about 60 whalers but that many because of the strong wind stayed off Hitland [Shetland Isles].
