Japanese cargo steam ship (ex-General Morrison 1919-1920, Bygdønes 1920-1922, Nordhave 1922-1924, Noshiro Maru 1924-1938) Nosiro Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JPUA/ Built by Dominion Shipbuilding Co. Ld., Toronto, Canada in June 1919. Of the Dominion Coal Co., Montreal, Canada and between 1920-1924 Norwegian property. Torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Guavina 100 miles north-west of Bonins, Japan on 26 April 1944. Gross tonnage 2,366 tons, net tonnage 1,418 tons, deadweight 3,000 tons and as dimensions 251.1 x 43.6 x 21.5 x 7 (light)-20 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, 274 nhp, coal bunker capacity 224 tons, range 1,800 nautical miles/8 knots and speed 8 (ormal cruising)-11 (maximum) knots. Lake type.
