Japanese passenger-cargo ship (ex-Santos Maru 1925-1943) Manzyu Maru 1943-1944

Call sign JCIB. Laid down by Mitsubishi Zosen Kaisha Ltd., Nagasaki, Japan on 5 January 1925, launched in September 1925, requisitioned by the navy in 1941, converted into a submarine depot ship, renamed Manja Maru and became a transport in March 1943 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Atule (SS-403) in the Luzon Strait on 24 November 1944. Gross tonnage 7,267 tons, under deck 6,088 tons, net tonnage 4,363 tons and as dimensions 430.7 x 55.7 x 36.0 x 25 (loaded) feet. Speed 14 (normal cruising)-16.4 (maximum) knots.
