Leander-class prededed by the Rothesay-, Salisbury-, Leopard- en Tribal-classes and succeeded by Type 31 frigate-class. Laid down by John Brown&Company, Clydebank, Scotland with yard number 721 on 1 June 1961, launched on 28 November 1962, commissioned on 9 April 1964, converted into an IKARA Batch 1b Leander between 4 December 1974-27 Feburary 1976, decommissioned on 28 April 1987 and arrived at Millom, Cumbria, England on 6 September 1990 to be broken up.
