Signalman ready to break surface
Part of L-class, preceded by E-class, succeeded by Odin-class. Laid down by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, United Kingdom in May 1916. launched on 24 April 1917, commissioned in December 1917 and sold to be broken up on 26 February 1930. Displacement 905 (surfaced)-1,091 (submerged) tons and as dimensions 70.4 x 7.2 x 4,0 metres or 231.1 x 23.6 x 13.3 feet. Propulsion consisted of 2 diesel engines with 2,400 bhp and 2 electric motors wth 1,600 hp allowing a speed of 17 (surfaced)-10.5 (submerged) knots and a rnage of 3,800 nautical miles/10 knots while surfaced. Test diving depth 30.5 metres/100 feet. Crew numbered 35 men. Armament consisted of 6-45.7cm/18” torpedo tubes (4 bow, 2 beam) and 1-10.6cm/4”deck gun.
