Japanese cargo ship (ex-Usworth 1910-1919, Pencisely 1919-1922, Shogen Maru 1922-1938) Syogen Maru 1938-1943

Call sign JDTA. Launched by John Redhead&Sons Ltd., West Yard, South Shields, England with yard number 315 on 6 July 1901, completed in in August 1910 and sunk by the American submarine USS Halibut 50 miles west north west of Erimo Saki, Hokkaido on 6 September 1943. Gross tonnage 3,362 tons, under deck 2,812 tons, net tonnage 2,058 tons and as dimensions 321.4 x 48.0 x 21/5 feet. Reciprocating propulsion 83 nhp, coal bunker capacity 740 tons, range 6,100 nautical miles/8.5 knots and speed 8.5 (normal cruising)-10 (maximum) knots.
