Japanese cargo ship Tamasima Maru or Tamashima Maru 1939-1944

Call sign JSHO. Laid down by Mitsubishi Jukyogo K.K., Yokohama, Japan on 6 December 1939, launched on 3 October 1940, completed on 14 December 1940, requisitioned by the navy as transport on 13 August 1941, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Spearfish (SS-190) on 30 January 1944 and stricken on 10 March 1944.Gross tonnage 3,560 tons, net tonnage 2,086 tons and as dimensions 343.9 x 48.2 x 27.9 x 8 (light)-22 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, 294 nhp, coal bunker capacity 385 tons, range 5,000 nautical miles/12 knots and speed 12 (normal cruising)-14 (maximum) knots.
