British submarine sunk Japanese ships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 15 April 1942

An item reported that on 1 April a British submarine torpedoed and sunk two Japanese ships in the Straits of Malacca, Dutch East Indies each of 6,000-7,000 ton and probably empty warships.
