Enemy submarines still active in the Atlantic Theater according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 20 April 1942

According to reports dated 1-17 April occurred the same number of attacks in the Cape Hatteras general vicinity as in the rest of the Atlantic Theater west of the longitude 30 degrees west. The number of submarines was unchanged.
