Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw-Maatschappij, Amsterdam, Netherlands with yard number 237 in 1935 and as part of a convoy underway from Murmansk towards England sunk by the German destroyer Hermann Schoemann of the North Cape on 1 May 1942. Gross tonnage 2,847 tons, under deck 2,003 tons, net tonnage 1,367 tons and as dimensions 285.1 x 49.0 x 20.5 x 22 (loaded) feet. Normal cruising 9-10 knots. Kingpost at the bridge. Resembled the Japanese Heito Maru-class. Launched with theA. Andreev on Saturday 26 October 1935. The Dutch newspaper De standaard dated 12 February 1936 reported her returning that morning from a trial. Her crew was expected to arrive at the end of the week with the Russian ss Anadyr. Especially built for transporting timber, coal and grain.
