Since 1857 formal name Cruiser. Part of Cruizer-class. Designed under direction of rear admiral Lord John Hay (1 April 1793-9 September 1851), when his Committee of Reference ended their activities became the Surveyor of the Navy 1848-1861 Sir Baldwin Wake Walker (6 January 1802-12 Feburary 1876) supervisor. Launched by Royal Dockyard Deptford on 19 June 1852, commissioned on 18 December 1852, training vessel and renamed Lark since 15 November 1872 and sold at Malta to be broken up in 1912.
