The German embassy at Tokyo, Japan wrote on 28 October 1935 to the Chef der Marineleitung at Berlin referring to the Japanese monthly magazine Yushu that the inland gunboat Risui, part of the riverine flotilla, built in 1903, tonnage 350 tons , speed 6.0 miles, flatt-bottomed and an armament of (anti aircraft) guns, machineguns, search lights and wireless devices.
