No cable connection between Iceland and the United Kingdom according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 12 April 1942

An item reported that the only availble cable between Iceland and the United Kingdom was broken or cut on the traject Faroe and Shetland Islands. This was a main communication problem with just one cable (with a landing on the Faroe Islands) and repairs during the war nearly impossible. The part of the cable between the Faroe Islands and Iceland seemed to be working.
