Allied bombers attacking Japanese ships off New Guinea according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 1 August 1942

An item reported that on 30 July Allied heavy bombers hit a Japanese medium transport 80 miles northeast of Ambasi, [Papua] New Guinea 5 times and strafed an escorting destroyer.
