Losses of cargo ships by Allied and neutral nations according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 1 August 1942

An item reported that between 1-25 July the Allied and neutral nations lost 454,00 gross tonnage of freighters or estimated 563,000 tons a month. In june were the losses 830,000 tons, in May 697,000 tons, April 652,000 tons, in March 648,000 tons, in February 638,000 tons and in January 406,000 tons. The J.I.C. commented that the losses in July were probably to be about 650,000 tons.
