Alcoa Line steamship disappeared according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 21 December 1941

An item referred to a J.I.C. comment that the disappareance of an Alcoa Line steamship [Alcoa Line Steamship Company] probably was caused by an enemy submarine off Venezuela, NA Caracas reported that the ship was 5 days overdue while underway from the island of St. Vincent to Punta de la Cruz, eastern Venezuela.
