Laid down as Bogue-class escort carrier USS Chatham by , Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation on 29 May 1942, launched on 19 September 1942, transferred to the UK under Lend-Lease on 11 August 1943, commissioned as Ruler-class escort carrier HMS Slinger D26, returned to the USA on 27 Feburary 1946. decommissioned on 12 April 1946, sold and relaunched as a merchant ship on 12 November 1946 and broken up in Taiwan between 1969-1970.
