An item referred to SPENAVO London reporting that Port Darwin, Australia possessed just very meager port facilities to be used by US forces. Water supply was adequate but docking and unlading facilities poor and scarce labour. The coastal defence consisted of old 15,24cm/6” guns and an unfinished net protection.
