An item referred to OPNAV reporting that on 18 December an army aircraft with a navy observer on board sighted an enemy submarine off Miami, USA which broached during investigation of oil attack. The submarine was not attacked. Next day the submarine was again located and attacked by an army bomber and naval vessels with no definitive results. The search was still going.
