Sister ships Arimasan Maru-Asakan Maru-Atutasan Maru. Call sign JTGL. Homeport Kobe. Built by Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Ld., Tama, Japan in 1937, requisitioned by the army in 1941, served as transport and broken up in 1970. Gross tonnage 8,696 tons, netto tonnage 5,268 tons and as dimensions 455.1 x 62.0 x 39.4 x 12 (light)-21 (loaded) feet. Diesel propulsion, single screw, horsepower 1,239 np-7,600 bho-8,500 ihp, oil bunker capacity 3,948 tons including deep tanks, range 4,700 nautical miles/16 knots and speed 16 (normal cruising/95rpm)-19 (maximum) knots.
