Call sign JKLB. Homeport Tokyo. Launched by R. Duncan&Co. Ld., East Yard, Port Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 324 on 30 October 1913, completed in December 1913 and torpedoed by the British submarine HMS Tradewind underway from Tandjong Priok towards Padang, Dutch East Indies on 18 September 1944. Gross tonnage 5,065 tons, under deck 4,720 tons, net tonnage 3,872 tons, deadweight 8,310 tons and as dimensions 405.0 x 53.0 x 27.2 x 7.10 (light)-24.3 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, horsepower 475 nhp, coal bunker capacity 2,270 tons, range nautical 18,000 miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-1 (maximum) knots.
