Nanko Maru, Saiho Maru, Toho Maru and similar Ryusei Maru and Nansin Maru. Call sign JIIB. Built by Irvine’s S.B. & D.D. Co. Ltd., West Hartlepool, England in June 1914 and sunk in a collision with the Ona Maru west of Oshima off Honshu on 31 March 1943. Gross tonnage 4,806 tons, under deck 4,404 tons, net tonnage 2,90 tons and as dimensions 38.50 x 52.0 x 27.0 x 7.6 (light)-24 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, 489 nhp, coal bunker capacity 1,850 tons, speed 12 knots (maximum) and range 13,000 nautical miles/10 knots.
