Laid down by Kawaki Shipbuilding Corporation, Kobe, Japan on 12 January 1936, launched on 31 July 1937, commissioned on 31 January 1938, wrecked in the Battle of Koh Chang on 17 January 1941 against a French flotilla, salvaged and refloated in Japan, decommissioned on 26 September 1941, became a training ship and stricken on 19 June 1959.
