Call sign PGRN. Launched by Harland&Wolff Ld., Govan, Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 748G on 22 September 1927, delivered in November 1927 to owner/manager Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Company Ltd, London, England, owner/manager N.V. Curaçaosche Scheepvaart Maatschappij, Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles since 1928, owner/manager N.V. Nederlandsch-Indische Tankstoomboot Maatschappij, ‘s-Gravenhage, Netherlands since 1932, regularly used by the Royal Netherlands Navv in the Dutch East Indies since 1939, renamed as auxiliary naval tanker Tan 1 in 1940, scuttled by own crew in the minefields near Tandjong Priok, Dutch East Indies on 1 March 1942, salvaged by the Japanese, renamed Arare Maru on 24 December 1942, renamed Nanyo Maru,found back in sunk condition as Singapore in August 1945, salvaged in November 1945, returned to her owner and sold to Aokam Tin Ltd., Kuala Lumpur in 1952 and converted into the tindredger Pibul. Gross tonnage 2,770 tons, under deck 1,831 tons, netto tonnage 1,319 tons, deadweight tons and as dimensions 305.3 x 50.2 x 15.1 x 15 (light) feet. Oil fuelled reciprocating propulsion, single screw, horsepower 452 nhp and speed (normal cruising) 9.5 knots.
