Positions of the major German warships according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 12 December 1941

An item referred to information received from London reporting the positions as far a known of the major German warships. In the Baltic battleship Tirpitz, cruisers Admiraal Scheer, Admiral Hipper, Leipzig, Köln and Emden. Cruisers Lutzow at Kiel, Seydlitz at Bremen, Nürnberg at Flensburg, aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin at Gdynia Poland. Battleships Gneisenau, Scharnhorst and cruiser Prinz Eugen at Brest, France. The latter two were ready to depart to open sea. Of the submarines were 43 lying in French west coast harbours, 22 active in the Atlantic, 76 in the Baltic for training and trial purposes and 14 in the Mediterranean.
