A letter of the German naval attache in Japan dated Tokyo, Japan 12 May 1938 referred to a so-called Domei tiding dated 10th sent from Hong Kong reporting that in the Kowloon Dock a 1.500 tons mother ship for torpedo boats was under construction for the Chinese government. She was launched on 6 May and after completion to be used for defending the Chukiang river near Canton. Further more were 2 torpedo boats for the Chinese government under construction at Hong Kong. It was not possible to check this information.
