Enemy submarine shelled the north coast of Ceylon according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 30 January 1942

An item reported that on 28 January 1942 an enemy submarine shelled the north coast of Ceylon. The J.I.C.. commented that this was one of the two first indications of enemy submarine activities in that area.
